• Private Charters (1-6 persons maximum - not including our captain or crew)
    • Pricing is based on number of hours, not the number of persons
    • We have several destination options, or request a custom float plan with your Skipper
    • Advantage of a PRIVATE charter is you have the boat privately to just your family or group of friends; allows your group to customize your route or choose from one we recommend .  No one else is offering this level of privacy and flexibility in our area on this type of sailing yacht and at our price point.
    • We do allow children on our private charters with a supervising parent on board.
    • Based on time frame, weather and tide conditions, we allow beaching of the vessel for island explorations / shelling / swimming, etc .  We provide 2 SUPs (stand up paddle boards free of charge for shore excursions).  We do not offer land excursions or beaching for 2 hour excursions.
    • Departure times are customized to your needs; however for the best experience, your captain will take into account sea state, tides and wind direction forecasts for that day when scheduling.
    • Beaching excursions not recommended from November through February due to cooler water temps.

  • What we provide for all charters and a few things to consider prior to selection of your excursion and booking:
    • Fun in the sun ! (but as it is Florida, could be a mix of clouds and sun or random short-lived rain drops )
      • Should a typical Florida summer rain occur (June - Sept) spontaneously during an excursion, we have plenty of room inside our main salon or at the helm under our dodger to keep plenty dry... NOTE: we generally cancel a trip only if severe weather (ie; thunderstorms, lightning forecasted or sustained wind speeds of 15kts or greater) is being forecasted and your skipper deems it unsafe to be on the water. Review our cancellation policy for more information.  Check weather forecast here.
    • Relaxation by lounging in our two over sized bean bags on deck, lounging on the trampoline out front deck, enjoying our two blue loungers or lounging and chatting with the skipper at the helm seating area in the rear of the vessel.  For those that need some shade or want to enjoy the interior salon, there are several areas in which to relax and enjoy the 180 degree views from inside.  We also provide sand/ beach chairs to use when going ashore.
    • Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) & other water toys !  We have two SUPs (used on the 3 hour or more excursions only, for those getting some beach and shore time mixed in with sailing).  Kick back and float just off the island with your favorite chilled beverage while listening to your favorite tunes (or not.. your choice).
    • Music if you choose - we can play it soft or loud (up to you).  We have a Bose blue tooth stereo system that allows connection to your own play lists via Pandora, etc (or we certainly have a great "sailing playlist" )
    • Cold bottled water, pink lemonade and a few snacks are provided free of charge on our private charters.  You can certainly BYOB , but please be a responsible drinker while on the excursion and of course have a DD for your drive home afterward.  You must be 21 years of age to drink on board the vessel.  Bottle openers, glassware and drinking ice is provided.
    • Our vessel is equipped with a private HEAD (that is boat speak for the bathroom).  Our marina port also has modern bathroom facilities as well.  We recommend visiting the landlubbers bathroom before shoving off.
    • Last but not least of all... SAFETY is key to Captain D.  We have gone above and beyond the standard coast guard requirements to make sure that all our guests and crew are safe while on our excursions.  Albeit this vessel we use is a very stable catamaran (does not pitch side to side or "heel" like most monohull sailboats), we do have certain protocols in place when moving around the exterior of the boat, when docked and when underway.  Of course we provide all the necessary equipment up to and including life jackets for all ages on board.  Click here to learn more about our UPV Inspection certification by the US Coast Guard.  Most Tampa Bay Area smaller charter vessels with passengers of 6 or less do NOT obtain this certification, as it is strictly voluntary and many small charters don't want to expend the extra monetary assets to be in compliance.
